The Gauteng Partnership Fund (GPF) team enthusiastically rolled up its sleeves and got to work at the Holyhands Caregivers NGO in Tembisa to mark Mandela Day on July 18.

In 2007, the United Nations declared the 18th of July Nelson Mandela International Day.

Mandela Day is more than a day of service; it is a powerful global call to action, urging individuals and organisations to recognise their potential to create change.

The Holyhands Caregivers NGO supports and cares for orphans and vulnerable children around Tembisa.

In line with its Corporate Social Investment policy, the organisation had donated – and installed – two new gas stoves, a double-door refrigerator and gas bottles.

On the 18th of July, GPF staff arrived early with toys, clothes and non-perishable foods to donate. They also collaborated with staff and students from the Ekurhuleni West College (EWC) to pave the driveway and repaint the facility.

Amanda Clark, Corporate Services Executive at the GPF, shared her heartfelt enthusiasm about celebrating Mandela Day alongside Holyhands Caregivers and partnering with the EWC for the initiative.

She said: “Our mission is to honour Madiba’s legacy by demonstrating our unwavering commitment to uplifting and supporting our communities.”

She also thanked the GPF team for its generosity and commitment to making the day a success.
