The Gauteng Partnership Fund (GPF) is a schedule 3C Public Entity established in 2002 as an agency of the then Gauteng Department Housing (GDHS) with an initial focus on social and affordable housing. The initial mandate focused on social housing market and later evolved the provision of financial solutions both for social and affordable housing include affordable housing due to changes in the environment. The agency has successfully implemented this mandate and can proudly account for the delivery of at least 17 000 social and affordable housing units. Both the GPF and the Department have since undergone several transformation processes in response to changing political and strategic imperatives pertaining to the delivery of housing / human settlements. Notwithstanding these various transformation processes, the GPF remains an agency of the now Gauteng Department of Human Settlements (GDHS) and accountable to its Member of Executive Council (MEC). The MEC of GDHS politically and strategically leads the Department on behalf of the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG). The main strategic posture and priority of the GDHS is the shift to upscaling Mega Projects. The core mandate of GPF is: “To serve as the Gauteng Department of Human Settlements’ capital raising and implementing agent for identified Mega Projects in the Gauteng Province”. The GPF offers innovative funding products designed to share project risk with the private sector
