Moloantoa Geoffrey “Geoff” Makhubo has been appointed as a Trustee of the GPF with effect from 1 July 2017. He currently serves as an elected Public Representative in the City of Johannesburg, where he has served as Councillor from being elected in May 2011.  Geoff is an accounting, finance and IT specialist with 16 years’ professional experience in a wide range of business management and specialist finance functions.

 

From June 2011 to July 2016 Geoff was a Member of the Mayoral Committee responsible for Finance as well as Chairperson of the Governance Mayoral Cluster and Leader of Executive Business. He is a Co-President of Global Fund for Cities Development based in Paris and in private business. Geoff holds B.Com degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Wits School of Governance.

 

He is currently completing his Msc Finance (Economic Policy) at the University of London and finalising Masters in Management (Public and Development Management) dissertation.

Komathie is a chartered accountant (SA). She has over 14 years of private and public sector international auditing and financial experience. She qualified as a chartered accountant through the Auditor General of South Africa. The GPF has benefited from Komathie’s extensive knowledge and understanding of the Public Finance Management Act.

 

This is evidenced by the exemplary clean audit record since her appointment in 2007. Komathie’s key strategic focus is that of good financial management and governance with the overall objective of effective and efficient service delivery to our people.

Thandi Kuzwayo holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree and the post graduate Bachelor of Laws degree both obtained from the University of Natal in Durban.
Thandi is an admitted attorney (RSA)and has right of appearance in the High Court (RSA).

 

Before joining GPF, she was with Absa bank Ltd for 10 years where she worked firstly as Legal Counsel and Conveyancing Manager for the Absa Real Estate and Asset Management Division. In 2006 she joined Absa Group Legal as Legal Counsel and Team Leader for the Group Litigation team.

 

She is a member of the Black Lawyers Association (where she is also Commercial Law Programme instructor) and the Corporate Lawyers Association.
She has extensive experience in management of legal risk, commercial law, banking law, high court litigation and property law.

Vinolia is a Certified Associate of the Institute of Bankers (CAIB, she has over 10 years of working experience within the corporate sector.

 

She holds a B.com Honours in Economics, a Diploma in Central Banking, a Certificate in Portfolio and Investment Management and has successfully completed Management Advancement Programme (MAP) with wits Business School.

 

She has worked for large corporates, such as the South African Reserve Bank and Nedbank Corporate Property Finance.
